The real distinction between slavery and indentured servitude is that offspring of slaves are slaves, and the offspring of the indentured are free.
What if the contract stipulated that as well? By definition, a valid contract involves the signatories. I could sign a "contract" requiring Bill Clinton to tell the truth from now on, but it would not be binding on him.
