CBS Cancels Wednesday '60 Minutes' May 18, 2005 9:00 AM
By DAVID BAUDER AP Television Writer
NEW YORK -
CBS said Wednesday it is cancelling the Wednesday edition of "60 Minutes," insisting the decision was made because of poor ratings and not last fall's ill-fated story about President Bush's military service.
Dan Rather, the newsmagazine's lead correspondent, will contribute stories to the Sunday edition of "60 Minutes," said CBS Chairman Leslie Moonves.
"This was a ratings call, not a content call," Moonves said Wednesday.

Like saying my butt is big because the boss made me sit at my desk and everybody is feeding me chocolate, and all I have to eat are french fries.
denial.
I'm just so heartbroken that I never watched the program once. (sarc)
"This was a ratings call, not a content call,"
And of course lousy ratings is what you get with lousy content.
Stick a fork in em.
"Rathergate? Oh, no, it's not about RatherGate. That's not why we're canceling it. And that's not why Dan stepped down early, either. Nope. Just a coincidence."
CBS is Going Down!

Exactly. All they care about is ratings. No ratings, no ad revenue.
Of course they'll never make the logical connection that bad content/lies/biased and shoddy psuedo-journalism led to low ratings.
Those whores would air video of dogs playing cards if it got ratings.
Precisely. CBS' low ratings come as a result of, among other things, their blatant disregard for truth in airing the bogus story about President Bush's National Guard record. CBS has shown a consistent bias in "reporting" the "news", and their personal/political agendas always take priority over substance and true journalistic integrity.
Les and his cohorts may be blind to the truth, but the general public are not.
Good start!!!! Go all the way and cap Sunday's version, too...
