I may have to listen to the rerun to make sure I heard what I heard......LOL.

Listen, whatever people say about Matthews, he has a lot of respect for the INSTITUTION of Congress, since he worked there.

Ha I heard that too! He went on to say that maybe Rats should think about winning more elections, instead of pulling these stunts to get their way!

"If they do that and try to filibuster a SCOTUS justice...God help 'em."

My point was that it would be ridiculous for Republicans to even enter into any negotiating on these nominees.
On your point, it will be especially hard to filibuster later if the nominee is actually one of this group that they will then have just passed earlier for Appellate Court. But, in addition, isn't there some way the Majority can change this filibuster rule on their own?

In this day and age with high technology and communications, do we really need full-time Congressinal representation in DC? All of the Senators and everyone in the House should return to their districts and home state and run their office from there. In the event a vote is required, they could do that via teleconference. Why spend the money for an outdated Congress? They need to catch up with the times. Think about seeing your rep in the grocery store and bugging them about a bill. Think we'd have cradle to grave tax-feeders? No way. There would be a mass exodus of retirements and both parties would implode. Lobbyists would cry in their Chablis over the loss of power. Think about it.

Okay, so who's with me on starting a movement?

BUMP! I'me with you!

"THE DEMS NEED TO WIN MORE ELECTIONS. GET YOURSELVES MORE SENATORS AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO PLAY THESE GAMES."

WOW! Even Chrissy (finally) gets it.

Damn. Chris had a moment of sanity and I missed it?

Well about time Chris got it! The Dems lost the election, they lost it with their anti-Faith anti-American obstructionist moves and will lose further in '06 for the same reason! If they actually cared about this country and repsected the people that made it work they might be able to legitmately vote these nominees down!

They are the minority and it's time those damn RINO's stopped kissing up to LOSERS and kissed up to the people that made them the majority for a reason!

Mike Allen from the WashPost is telling Matthews that Bush has said there is to be NO compromise. None.

He is also saying that the GOP think they've got it, but the Six S**tHead Senators are protecting THEIR preroggatives.

Who are the six?

Vote could come Tuesday.

Miss it, darn. I don't watch O'Reilly any more.

I thought Zell had a deal with FOXNews, or perhaps some other news station.

"C. Borden Grey just pointed out that IF the fillibuster option really WAS available and had been used before the Dems would have used it on Clarence Thomas!"

Yes.
Wasn't it the chief demonrat tommy daschle who found the clever filibuster device? Probably brought it out of the depths of the netherworld where he continues to reside.

Wow! When Hissy Matthews makes sense it means he doesn't have his DNC talking points. He also confronts his own party about their lies, innuendos and lack of policy.

Tomorrow he will have the opposite opinion.

Anybody know if either party is absent for their debate time? Or is debate concluded and we are waiting only for the wrap up of the day?
