I'm fed up with the lack of manners being shown in the senate. If they can't comport themselves with respect, they should be sent home.
Dorgan wants to give the pubs remedial reading courses, how about giving the dems a course in manners.

Denying access to people with wheelchairs? I'd like to deny Teddy access to a microphone. "An expensive burden that has far outlived its usefulness..." Teddy, stop talking about yourself and stick to the issues at hand, please.

Has anybody else heard this quote from Schumer:
If each senator is assumed to represent half that state's population, then the Senate's 55 Republicans represent 131 million people, while its 44 Democrats represent 161 million.
If so, anyone know how he arrived at that number?
I used the US Census to find the population of each state. If the state had two R's, I gave that state to the Pubbies. If the state had two D's, I gave that state to the DEMs. If it had one of each, I split the population in half. Here are the results:
Total Population - 293,101,881 (state by state total is 3 million shy of the US population total listed due to Puerto Rico and DC)
States with two R's - 118,182,381
States with two D's - 121,753,948
States split - 53,165,552
Using Schumer's logic, I get 145 million (R) to 148 million (D)
They can't even get their own point correct.

Teddy is for voting rights for all, the dead, illegals, felons and also those who have already voted.

Don't you wish some GOP senator would say, "that's rich coming from the right honorable murderous drunk from Massachusetts"?

Pat Buchanan or Pat Leahy?
I wouldn't listen to either one, but I am curious.
I get Hannity on an hour delay, here in Texas, so I am still hearing Rush.

To: Kerretarded
who cares, its the House that was designed to be the representative body based on populace - not the senate.
To: Mo1
Why the heck is he rambling on about Pryor?? This must just be a copy of a speech he gave last year. If it is, I was actually in the Senate gallery when he gave it, so expect him to start shouting in about seven minutes from now.

I don't know this answer.
BTW, thanks for helping defeat Daschle. Next, let's daschlize Reid.
To: ken5050
The more Harry Reid talks the more people realize he is encouraging the senators to forget the US Constitution as he is. Harry Reid has forsaken his oath of office in favor of obstruction, misinformation and down right lies about filibusters and their use in the senate.
Filibusters are for legislative issues only - judicial nominees are not a legislative issue. The Constitution only allows an up or down vote, advice and consent...Reid is out of bounds, out of ethics, and should be thrown out of office.

44 Democrats represent 161 million.Does this mean he thinks they have 161 million votes? /sarc>
To: the anti-liberal
Teddy is listing all the sins of Pryor. Just as was the case with Judge Brown, the more I hear about his opinions and rulings, the more I like him (and no, I don't believe Teddy's characterizations), and I am absolutely main stream America when it comes to judicial rulings. Dems really are out of touch on where regular folks are. They will stick with the Constitution and if it does not allow something that most of us agree should be allowed, we will work to change it.
