I think a firing squad would be more appropriate.

They don't care about subscriptions....what they do care about are their advertisers. Find out who the major advertisers are and "pressure" them to pull their ads, unless changes are made.

That's the fastest and most powerful way to demand change in a media vehicle.

The irony is that Isikoff is one of their most conservative reporters, which ain't saying much. Without Isikoff, though, they aren't much better than Pravda or al Jazeera, if at all.

Isikoff seems to have alot of apologists out there!

I've seen both Liberal AND Conservative analysts describing him as a top-notch reporter and they're all trying to "deflect" blame to the editors who ultimately decide what is and isn't printed in Newsweek.

Translation: Isikoff doesn't have an agenda......the editors of the magazine do!

Bottom line is that Isikoff's name was on the article so Isikoff is to blame, IMO.

Resignation? That's a wrist slap. Given the consequences, I think several people on the magazine's editorial staff, along with Isikoff, should be brought up on charges.

You have to admit they are sharper than Dan Rather. (I guess contributing to over a dozen deaths can set your brain cells to firing.) They didn't dig in, but officially retracted the story. I say we look at that as a tacit admission of guilt, and urge the authorities to prosecute the guilty. Newsweek needs to be hammered legally and put out of business. No, not to "encourage the others." Just as a good place to start.

Newsweak Magazine subscriptions should come with security cables for the offices to prevent them from being thrown into the trash can.

Who was or was there actually an anonymous source that relayed this info to Newsweek? If there was such a source I want his/her head first.

In the meantime, you might want to stop buying the New York Sun, whose editorial this morning totally misses the point and fawns over brother journalist Isikoff.

I agree with NewsWeak. Isikoff's resignation is not necessary. He should just be made to go to Afghanistan and all other Muslim counties and meet personally, face-to-face with the citizens of those fair-minded countries and offer an apology for his error in reporting. That should take of the problem.....permanently, if you get my drift.

Spacewolf -- Justifiably, the Isikoff byline is henceforth and hereafter radioactive. It is less than worthless.

And it belongs right there in Newsweek, who will forever be tagged with two (2) malfeasances.

1. They foisted a false anti-military and internationally flammable story upon unsuspecting readers, and

2. They chose the Clintonian route of blaming others and only reluctantly, (and minimally) accepting any responsibility.

.

Just like I was for them keeping Dan Blather at SeeBS; I'm for "Newsweak" keeping Isikoff.
What better icon of the left wing bias and lies than the poster boy, Isikoff at "Newsweak!"

Newsweak should pay reparations to the families of those who were injured or killed. That will bring a quick end to sloppy reporting practices.
