You can call Newsweek to voice your complaints at (212)445-4000. Demand that the magazine be held accountable by requesting that Isikoff either be fired or his resignation accepted. If you or your business have a subscription to Newsweek, threaten cancellation if they do not comply within a week from today (5-17-05). This sort of irresponsible reporting must be accounted for. Only all of our efforts can help bring this about. Thank you.
I think a firing squad would be more appropriate.
Just called, you get the voicemail for their letters dept.
Good one. Which paper published this?
That's the fastest and most powerful way to demand change in a media vehicle.
The irony is that Isikoff is one of their most conservative reporters, which ain't saying much. Without Isikoff, though, they aren't much better than Pravda or al Jazeera, if at all.
Without subscriptions, there are no advertisers.
Okay... I made the call.
Is there any possibility that Isakoff is being "set up" by the libs at Newsweek to take the hit on this?
I just wonder, and have no conclusions.
When will someone please ask Eleanor Clift to apologize? Will she apologize on the 'McGlaughlin Group' this week? Or will she just blame Tony Blankley and evil Republicans, like she always does?
Excellent, excellent idea. Anybody got some good leads on that? Phone numbers and contacts needed!
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke).
Maybe, but then you'd think they'd accept the resignation, wouldn't you? I wouldn't say Isikoff is conservative or even moderate. He's just not as far to the left as his fellow Newsweek nutcases.
I've seen both Liberal AND Conservative analysts describing him as a top-notch reporter and they're all trying to "deflect" blame to the editors who ultimately decide what is and isn't printed in Newsweek.
Translation: Isikoff doesn't have an agenda......the editors of the magazine do!
Bottom line is that Isikoff's name was on the article so Isikoff is to blame, IMO.
Resignation? That's a wrist slap. Given the consequences, I think several people on the magazine's editorial staff, along with Isikoff, should be brought up on charges.
You're not wrong, either.
Isikoff should resign first...then his immediate editor at the mag should go next.
