BREAKINH!!-- FRIST TELLS REID TO POUND SAND -- FILIBUSTER NEGOTIATIONS HALTED!!
Reuters ^ | 05-16-05 | cww

Posted on 05/16/2005 8:11:22 PM PDT by CWW

Just Reported -- Frist and Reid broke off filibuster negotiations tonight -- Both said, "stick a fork in it, we're done" (or words to that effect).

Reid is quoted as saying that Frist wanted "all or nothing." Hmm -- sounds good to me!

Wednesday is D-Day. Better start loading up Fat Man and Little Boy! We're going thermonuclear!

I consider the morals of the matter more important than the politics.

Fair enough.

Well, unfortunately, I doubt MSNBC will help her drop the tabloid bit.

That's too bad...

That's GREAT news that Senator Roberts is one of the good guys.

I'll revise this:

Drudge had a guest on his show last night, who said the Constitutional option vote is going to be close. Just a couple of senators could make the difference.

Even if none of these SWING senators is your own senator,
please invest the time needed to call them. If you are busy, please at least call one or two.

The SIX wavering Republican Senators are Collins, DeWine, Hagel, Murkowski, Specter, and Warner.

We can call toll-free at 877-762-8762 & just ask to be connected to any senator.

Fax or e-mail info can be found here (but phone calls are more effective):
http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm

Urge each to FULLY SUPPORT THE FILIBUSTERING
RULES CHANGE.

PLEASE tell your friends to call and e-mail, too.

Of course, we will see if my principles hold when we are in the minority again, but hopefully they will.

Pretty good scenario, but it won't come to that.

OK. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

The wheel will turn someday, and I won't be able to bear the lunatics chosen by the Liberals.

I'm just not sure the reward is worth the future risk.

If Frist wins the nuclear showdown, he will become the instant front-runner for the Republican nomination. Here goes...

WOOHOOOOO!!

Good thing I stocked my fridge today with healthier snacks than last Thursday. LOL

I'll say this. I'm watching a number of these Presidential hopefuls throughout this process. Leadership is a quality the Rep candidate must show and this is a good litmus test. Frist, Allen and the rest will come out well. McCain? Kiss his dreams of playing President good-bye.

Supposedly, LIEberman is with the HOP. Please don't take back anything nasty, that you said about him, Joe still deserves the calumny you heaped upon him in the past.

The current news is that Rita is headed to MSNBC.

That's a huge step down. I've never cared for her show, really. I change the channel. I'm not into gossip TV I guess.
