''even under the Taliban you got an appearance in court''.
I know we're all praising Blair because of his support of the war, but this should be a reminder that most Brits's hearts are with the French when it comes to the US. No, not all, but most.

This guy is 1 nasty piece of work.
I KNOW this because I lived in London for 12 1/2 years.
When Britain went to fight in Iraq, this scumbag called for the insurgents to attack British & American troops. For this and SO MUCH MORE, he was 'fired' by his party.
So he decided to start-up a new party. I just can't wait to see what other stuff this lying, cheating, back stabbing, traitor will do next.
This idiot is a poster child for all that is wrong in the British Parliament.

Galloway is all mouth and no brain. The perfect DU hero.

"Even under the Taliban you get an appearance in court." If this guy had any sense, instead of just a big mouth, he would know that Taliban justice was junk. And there were Afghanis executed without a "court appearance".

and branded the committee as a tool of the US governmentYes, the Senate and its various committees are a tool (rather a dull one) of the people of the various states, who govern this country through their elected representatives.
A broken clock is right twice a day, and all that.

Galloway reminds me of a boxer beyond his prime. Prancing and parading around the ring as he yells slurs and insults at his opponent, trying to psych himself up before the bell rings because once it does ring, he's knocked out cold from the first punch.

THIS is the million dollar question.
The British people were outraged (which doesnt happen that often), they called for action. The Sun newspaper (the only British newspaper worth reading in my opinion) took up this cause. They put dozens of reporters on the story, dug up a LOT of skeltons in [his] closet, including the fact that his multi-million dollar house, was bought & paid for with a 'donation' of $15 million from SADDAM himself.
It raged for months and eventually Labor (UK Dems) fired him, Scotland Yard began investigating and that was the last I heard of it.
Now this idiot has started his own party, only in Britain.

Nah it could happen in Canada where we have a national party that is dedicated to destroying Canada, the Bloc Quebecois, and they get taxpayer money to do it with.....

He "branded" a US senate committee a tool of the US government? This passes for thought among modern communists?

I am curious about something regarding Galloway's trip to Washington, and that's whether or not he came of his own free will.
If by his own free will, then why?
If not, then does the jurisdiction of the US Senate reach across the Atlantic to the UK Parliament?
Don't get me wrong - I believe Galloway is a liar, a crook, a communist, and a traitor. I'm just curious as to the extent of US jurisdiction.

Allow me to address Mr. Galloway's concern, pd...
Here's how justice works, Mr. Galloway -- the suspect is first publicly charged, which is what the US Senate did in your case. Then the subject is offered his day in court, which (again) is what the US Senate did in your case. Do you now understand how this works, Mr. Galloway?

"...whether or not he came of his own free will."The Senate sub-committee concluded Mr. Galloway was involved in oil-for-food corruption, ie. was on the take. They made their belief public and invited Mr. Galloway to appear before them if he chose to dispute their findings.
Nobody was compelled to do anything here.
