Well, the guys over at the Center for Consumer Freedom have done it again. They are experts at tweaking the noses of those on the Left who believe that you're too stupid to know what foods you should eat and that animals are more important than humans. Their latest stroke of genius is a new website -- http://www.petakillsanimals.com/ -- that tells of the animals that PETA has had killed at its shelter at its Norfolk, Va., headquarters.
Why is PETA doing this? Because it's too expensive for them to keep the animals alive and they have other financial priorities. The website makes the point thusly:
"PETA raked in nearly $29 million last year in income, much of it raised from pet owners who think their donations actually help animals. Instead, the group spends huge sums on programs equating people who eat chicken with Nazis, scaring young children away from drinking milk, recruiting children into the radical animal-rights lifestyle, and intimidating businessmen and their families in their own neighborhoods. PETA has also spent tens of thousands of dollars defending arsonists and other violent extremists.
"PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts 'for the animals.' But which animals? Carping about the value of future two-piece dinners while administering lethal injections to puppies and kittens isn't ethical. It's hypocritical -- with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren't their own doing."
Wonderful.

Hot dogs anyone?
So does John f'n Kerry.
Penn and Teller did a show on PETA last year that exposed this. PETA has a walk in freezer for storing the animals they euthanize. While they were protesting at the home of the guy who runs the animal shelter in LA, telling his kids he was a Nazi and a murderer, threatening him with death, PETA was actually killing a far far greater percentage of the animals they took in in their shelter then LA was.
They also showed direct PETA support for domestic terrorists, who they employed to go to local schools to give lectures, or who they supported with legal fees and bail. P&T nailed them but good.
Thankyou so much for posting this. I have been torturing lefties on another site and this is the thumbscrew I have been looking for.
"Not counting the dogs and cats PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 85 percent of the animals it took in during 2003 alone."
Don't get the connection between killing and spaying/neutering.
BTW - PETA has always been cruel to animals. Releasing caged animals onto the streets with no regard for their ability to survive or their welfare afterward is not being kind or caring at all.
From the website ... during 1998 thru 2003 PETA received 13,021 dogs, cats, etc.
They killed 10,195 of them.
This comes out to over $2,800 for each fuzzy little pet which sounds a little high to me. Maybe they hire an attorney for each animal and go through a lengthy appeals process before they 'off' them.
Better yet, come out to Wyoming and go hunting with me.
Hello, troll.
"P&T nailed them but good."
Excellent! I've seen some of those shows, they are pretty good. Of course, they'll be bound to gore one of my oxen, but that's ok, I can take it. Knowing the liberals will watch this show because it's Penn & Teller, and then they'll hear some uncomfortable truths.
I wonder how long it will take before the MSM lands on them, like it has on Bill Cosby?
"The Washington Times did a story about this some years ago-how the govt of DC contracted PETA activists to run its shelter, and how in some cases, the shelter killed animals rather than permitting them to be adopted!"
This happened to my husband and I when we went to our local humane society to get a medium sized dog. We found one we liked and were getting ready to sign the papers but made the mistake of saying we lived on a farm and he would be a farm dog. They wouldn't let us take it if we weren't keeping it in the house. It was an older dog that would be difficult to adopt out so more than likely, it was euthanized. I have 4 very happy farm dogs, it's a shame they wouldn't let that one join the party, that they would rather see it dead.
Signed up today just to post that little gem, eh? Welcome, troll.
"Does criticizing PETA make you feel less guilty about eating meat ?"
Your comment was not addressed to me, but I will state for the record that I don't feel at all guilty about eating meat.
Do you feel guilty about eating meat? Why?
You're not going to respond to any of these comments, are you.
Why does PETA call the guy who runs animal shelter in LA a murderer and a Nazi, when they kill 3 times the percentage of animals in their shelter he does?
PETA supports terrorists. PETA is loaded with hypocrites who benefit from animal research, like the VP of PETA who is diabetic, and yet supports terrorism against those who conduct animal research. Maybe asswipes like you would volunteer to be the test subjects for new drugs or surgeries?
By the way, I love animals. Especially with a nice barbacue sauce.
I don't feel guilty at all.
