NEW YORK -- Fox News Channel will not renew a contract with weekend host Rita Cosby, as the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on an extension, the network said.
Cosby hosted "The Big Story Weekend Edition With Rita Cosby" at 9 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday at 6 p.m. she hosted "Fox News Live With Rita Cosby."
Cosby will leave the network immediately. No replacement host has been appointed, nor has a decision been made on the future of the shows, Fox News said.
The 'Big Story' host's departure is immediate
What's the story there? Thanks. :)
Rita mis-reported that the Supreme Court had ruled for Gore in the 2000 election debacle. Gave a lot of people heart attacks until FNC sent out another reporter to clear up her analysis.
can they get rid of geraldo, too?

Rita has got some hot biscuits...
I'd hire her just to watch her lick an ice cream cone
Aha!
I saw that, never liked her since. She was just sooooo excited that her algore was president, then the truth came out, she was a blonde bimbo who got it WRONG. I have never watched her since.
Am I remembering this correctly?

"Dennis Miller...white courtesy phone..."
If ONLY!! Darn, I love Dennis!
I think they pay Cosby in cheeseburgers.
I thought it was jello.
You have a good memory; it was Steve Centani.
Personally, I would love to see Alan Keyes brought in. Though he was the wrong choice in the Illinois elections. Keyes show on MSNBC "making sense" was the best (and only show I watched) on that channel. Keyes really knew how to stick it to the Mooslim apologists

Some of us are hoping, but so far, he's still there.
He didn't have his own show, he was just appearing on a show or two. He might have been on H&C, I'm not sure.
I'm sure his show is being cancelled because there are only about 4 people watching. It's a shame - he could have a good show.
I guess that's why her show was more or less just fluff. They all do Michael Jackson stories, but hers was often full of it -- wall to wall Michael Jackson. That was enough to make me ill. I don't care to watch that kind of "news" so I had tuned her out lately.
Sent to FNC!
I'd like to second that motion.
They can give her the lead anchor position anytime
No big loss unless you care about the latest tabloid trial.
Actually, I hope they replace Rita Cosby right away, with hopefully someone good (I wouldn't mind Dennis Miller; he humors me, and has a quick wit). Fox is the only one of the major cable channels that has live programming of news on Saturday night. The news on the weekend is more tabloid-like, but that's ok, it's the weekend, and one can lighten up and have a more casual approach than straight news. At least it's not re-runs or programs on prison life, like the other cable channels dish out. Sat/Sun night programming is lousy, in general, as it is expected most people will be out and about on the weekends.
Rita drove me nutz. Her constant hyperventilating, and making EVERYTHING a "Fox News Alert" made ME hyperventilate. Plus, if she thanked someone once, she would thank them 100 times when the end of their segment came. "Thank you so much for being on, thank you, thank you." You're welcome. "No, you're welcome, and thank you thank you thank you", ad nauseum. Geez, one thank you is more than enough.
Plus, Rita is a news whore. She acts like she's best friends with everyone she interviews, in order to wheedle out an interview from them. She kissed up to Michael Jackson bigtime (as did Whorealdo). However, have you noticed that Whorealdo seldom talks about the Jackson case anymore? A lightbulb obviously went on in his head once the Jessica case from Florida hit, followed by a second FL case. Suddenly Whorealdo figured out it wasn't the best idea to be buddies with and defend an obvious pedophile. Especially as he was truly sickened by what happened to young Jessica, and it's hard to be tough about other pedophiles while giving a pass to a famous one.
Bottom line, Rita's going is no loss. Just hope her replacement is well thought out and someone we can all like and admire (with a brain that works bigtime).
