Pacific Ocean (May 10, 2005) - Pilots man the Land Signal Officer (LSO) platform during flight operations aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The LSO platform uses a Heads Up Device (HUD) system to help guide pilots in for a safe landing on the flight deck. (May 11, 2005) - An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Fist of the Fleet" of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Five (VFA-25) prepares to make a touch and go landing on the flight deck of Nimitz class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during flight operations. VFA-25 is part of Carrier Air Wing One Four (CVW-14) currently embarked aboard the Reagan as it conducts flight deck certifications in the Pacific Ocean.
