The sex educators in Montgomery County, Md., have devised a film for 10th-graders that features a young lady putting a condom on a cucumber. You do wonder, when you read about these things, why they stop there. After all, if the assumption is kids are too stupid to know how to unroll a condom unless it is demonstrated for them, why would they be smart enough to know it goes on a penis and not on a vegetable? But guess what? They are indeed worried about that. Wendy Shalit, in a City Journal piece in 1998 described a New York teacher's guide that urged ninth-grade health teachers to unroll condoms and stretch them out onto "two fingers."

has anyone ever watched "Girl Next Door"? maybe it's just me, but if they gotta know, why not (gasp) show the real thing? of course the usual parental permission/consent would have to be recieved.. but blatency(sp?) tends to have the better effect.

You'd be suprised how many accidental pregnancies happen because the man doesn't get the condom on correctly. I'd prefer that the kids know the right way.

I believe those are minors. Way below 18 years old. You should be arrested for veggie kiddie porn.
Apparently a lot of people aren't aware that you're suppose to pinch the top of a condom while rolling it on. That isn't as intuitive as some seem to think. Really unless you're reading the box (which according to most posters here, isn't necessary since it's so easy) or someone tells you, how would they know?
Of course, in the end (no pun) it's the responsibility of the user to figure this crap out.
Then feel free to personally teach your own kids the correct way.

Despite what you tell them your kids will probably end up having sex at one time or another and more than likely it will be a haphazard gropefest in the back of some $1000 beater car. Given that condoms will likely be involved, wouldn't you prefer that they know what they're doing with them?
Now putting a condom on an incontinence product is just weird.

Here is the solution, we tell the boys that sex is an act between a man and a vegetable. We kill out the liberal race and reduce unwanted pregnancies all at once.
