As a matter of fact I've been incredibly blessed. But the fact is that our society is full of rules. Just get in your car and drive down the road. Go to Walmart and try to buy something. Life is about rules and playing the system. She just failed at that this time around. Maybe she'll get better at it. You think?

She got what she wanted, admission into college. Why do you say she failed. She failed to achieve someone else's goal, but she achieved, or is achieving, her own.

She didn't fail at anything. She is going to go to college, and before that she will have her ged. What exactly do you think she failed at? She knows what she wants, and needs, and isn't letting politicians( schoolboard) do her thinking for her.

Always going by the "rules" is not a good way to go through life. I got through it just fine by doing almost everything in life my way, and I survived quite well thank you.

I am an individual, being taught to be one from an early age, and proud of it.That doesn't mean I broke any laws, but it does mean that when something was better for me, not just the people I worked for, I took that road.

Being a team player most often means that the "team" screws the players and the player loses out.

In our recent past most Americans were also individuals but thanks to people like you who think we should all bow and scrape to our "leaders" whims Americans have lost a lot of their individuality, to our great loss.

Seems to me as if I've always understood playing the system as being a way to circumvente to rules or to push up against them so hard as to make playing by the rules a semi-joke. I played the system during my career as a mortgage banker. I understood what the rules were but there were times when I had to stay just this side of the rules in order to get people's home loans close.

I never did anything illegal, I simply stretched and pushed against the rules.

I don't see where she failed. I see where the school system is so rigidly wrapped in red tape they can't see the treasure they have in her.
