Schiavos Don't Know Where Terri's Ashes Are (Schindlers Don't Know Where Terri's Ashes Are)

MIAMI - The family of a severely brain-damaged woman who died after her feeding tube was removed in March said Friday they still have not been told where her remains will be laid to rest.

Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, who waged a lengthy court battle over her end-of-life wishes, said on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" show that her husband is keeping her remains from them.

"They were supposed to tell us, and we still have not heard from ... Michael Schiavo where Terri's been laid," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "Our family expected this. Michael has disobeyed court orders throughout the ordeal and continues to do so today."

Michael Schiavo is under court order to notify the Schindlers of his plans for a memorial service. He has had his wife cremated and has said her ashes would be buried at a family plot in Pennsylvania.

George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, did not immediately return a call Friday night seeking comment.

Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop.

She left no written instructions in the event she became disabled, and her husband said she never would have wanted to be kept alive in what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.

The Schindlers, however, doubted she had any such end-of-life wishes. They maintained she would benefit from rehabilitation, despite most doctors saying her condition was irreversible

" The fact is Terri died the day of her heart attack and medicine kept her body alive."

Oh really...a heart that beats perfectly and lungs that breathe without a machine. What exactly was the 'medicine' that kept her alive? It was not medicine but just a feeding tube. What goes into a feeding tube? liquid food!

Terri had her 'FOOD' denied which kept her alive like you and me. She did not need 'Medicine' to keep alive. Terri was not dead, just reduced level of consciousness from a brain injury. She was alive and was killed by denying food and water (and that is fact instead)

This just isn't about Terri, I'm talking about if everyone stayed alive no matter what. That would be a huge financial burden on society. I'm being realistic.

Easy cop-out. Just kill the sick.

Your view is exactly why I am avid about the Terri case. This is the beginning of a nazi society as Hitler instigated. Try and form a more perfect society for whatever reason and killing is how you do it.

And, I'll tell you, I will point out this horror everytime I run across it. It has been hidden before Terri and this may be the purpose of Terri - to show us the dark forces at work in our society.

I'm sure he's reluctant to have a memorial service or bury her remains. Given the passion this case caused, her gravesite would become a tourist attraction for her supporters.

We've already had one poster on this thread state that he/she would like to dig the remains up.

There have been memorial services for Terri. She's gone. Arguing about ashes just a cover story for arguing about the other issues.

Another CINO heard from!

When did grave robbing become a tenet of conservatism? I must have missed a memo.

You know, I'm beginning to think we are fighting more than the Terri case here.

We are fighting the view that "some" are entitled to judge the "livibility" of the weak. They like to remain hidden as they promote murder for convenience, cost - but, no more.

Very sad to find that many are "conservatives". Never expected they were "conservative with giving life status".

Is that part of the libertarian belief?

I tend to agree with your assesment. So in effect, if he's planned no service, he's not violating the law as the Schindlers report.

The article says that he intends to inter her in the family plot in Pennsylvania. I'm not certain, other than to the date of the interment, he has to be.

"If he had evidence, that wouldn't have done anything? And why would it make any difference now? Why bother to publish a book if what he has to say wouldn't change anything? Unless it is to simply make money. No surprise there."

Not vouching for Mark Fuhrman or his motives. Even if he did have viable evidence, pitt bull Judge Greer and his judicial accomplices had this case nailed shut. Remember that Greer et al. would not consider the medical opinions of 2 respected neurologists who disputed Terri's diagnosis as PVS nor reopen the matter for further review. The judicial tyrants were blind and stubborn to any further evidence.

So in effect, if he's planned no service, he's not violating the law as the Schindlers report.

He has to not plan two things. He has to have no plan for a service, and he has to have no plan for placing her remains. Can't plan to leave them on the shelf, leave them at the crematorium, leave them in the closet, etc. Once he plans a "final resting place," he's supposed to inform the Schindlers of that plan (again, going by news reports that he is obliged to report the plan, not the execution of the plan).

He could continously be looking for what his final plans are. That would meet a court test.

Easy cop out: KILLING THE SICK. We're not talking about the sick, we're talking about the technically dead.

Your assumption that people just want to get rid of other people is breathtaking in it's pessimism about the human condition.

You got that right - see you can understand.

Guess I left out this part - first, we must go through a judgement process to determine whether they should live or not. Not sure exactly who the judgers are but "THEY" will let me know if jane doe can live or not.

It's what Terri wanted. /sarcasm

Modifying that a little bit, it may be that Michael has already adequately communicated the plan for disposal (her remains will be placed in an undisclosed family plot in Pennsylvania), and has only to report that the disposal plan has been carried out. It's perfectly reasonable to have no further services.

Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, had said her ashes would be buried in an undisclosed family plot in Pennsylvania. A court order requires that he notify her parents of her burial and any services.

Oops. For some reason half of the last sentence didn't post. Should have read I'm not certain, other than to the date of the interment, he has to be any more specific. Sorry.

I agre with your point here, though you must admit that previous generations did not have feeding tubes and other artificial means of prolonging life.
"All other generations have managed to work though these situations. Why should the most advanced generation be the first to kill our weak?"

There are legal definitions of life and death. I understand you don't like them. So work to change them. I'm just saying be prepared for the ramifcations of it all.
