No mine is Andrew Tyrie, MP for Chichester. I just am from Fulham, so I care what happens there.

Yeah I didn't think so either, but the way those polls were panning out (not to mention the widepsread gerrymandering)...
Hopefully when I come back in about 3.5 hours, there will be some very good news starting to come in!

Rush says exit polls indicate disaster for Blair and his party. If that's true the media will blame it on his relationship with Bush and not on the return to power of the conservatives
To: MadIvan
If Labour voters stay at home...well things could get interesting. Maybe the "news" of light turnout is a media ploy and is going to be used to increase Labour turnout and motivate them to get out to the polls?

Gallows are fine but hanging, drawing, and quartering was so much more satisfying.

Unfortunately, I think the leftists in your country are those that always make the news over here, much like how San Francisco makes the news there. We see the soccer hooligans(a term I think originated from a version of my surname), you see Jerry Springer and COPS. It's not the average American or Englishman who makes the news.
England's on my places to visit list, right along with Ireland, Scotland, all 50 states(been to 20 and DC), Alberta(Canada province), Czech Republic, Italy, New Zealand, and Australia.

Absolutely...what irks me the most about the Lib Dems is that we tried all their "solutions" already, and they didn't work (apart from a local income tax - which would be a disaster: imagine an information transfer from Inland Revenue to local councils?)

He's probably just doing a spoof on what the exit polls showed in November.

I fear for Oliver Letwin he nearly lost last time and I my gut feeling is that he may just hold on but it is a real distinct possibility he will loose his seat.
Also Michael Howard himself is actually in a target seat I think he will hold his but it is not a forgone conclusion.

If it was a media ploy, you'd think the BBC website would be screaming about light turnout - apparently not.

Exit polls also indicated that we were going to inaugurate a President Kerry last January. British polls seem especially vulnerable in this regard - I remember in 1992 they were confidently projecting a Labour sizable victory.

Rush says exit polls indicate disaster for Blair and his party.Liberals vote early and often. They have nothing else to do. Conservatives have to wait until they get out of work. Our polls had Kerry a shoe-in until the normal people had a chance to vote. I think all this is way too early. Wait for the productive members of the UK to vote. Things could easily change.

The Tories will cut taxes, cut bureaucracy, cut spending (at least increases), secure the borders through controlled immigration (one of the centrepieces of their platform), ........and increase defence spending. Traditionally, those have been the views of the American conservative. Well.....3 out of 5 ain't bad as the current administration goes.

If you go to London, eat at the Golden Dragon in Chinatown. Oriental food in the UK rocks.

If it was a media ployPerhaps the British media is up to the same standards and methods as the corrupt US media and their constant attempts to swing and indoctrinate voters to support liberalism.

What about North Norfolk? I've read that Ian Dale, the Tory, is tipped to take this seat from the lib dem. incumb?
