Ah, yes. Might makes right, certainly over the will of the people therein.
Maybe you should brush up on your Declaration of Secession, er, Independence.
I agree with you, partially. The Articles of Confederation ARE defunct. In actuality, the Articles of Confederation REPEATEDLY DENIED the right of secession.
However, the Founding Fathers, who were SECESSIONISTS, realized their folly with the articles, and eliminated the clauses outlawing secession from the US Constitution.
And you may note that they dared NOT call the US a "Perpetual Union" again!!!!
Yeah, but realistically...how hard are we really going to fight to take back LA?
Actually, the right to Liberty comes from God, NOT from government. Please re-read your Declaration of Independence.
Governments will ALWAYS try to prevent people from their Liberty. I give you, Abraham Lincoln, King George, Stalin, Krushchev, Chairman Mao, all as examples.
What these criminals either fail or are too stupid to realize is that they are fleeing a "culture" that sucks big time, just like many other groups that came to our shores for a better life. Their "culture" breeds corrupt governments and a disregard for laws.
Why the hell do these sleaze balls come here like thieves in the night, refuse to learn the language and keep their discredited culture? They then compound their criminal acts by insisting on sucking off every government teat program they can find.
Immigration may have build this country but, at the risk of being called a racist, the flood of immigrants which helped to make this country great came from a more civilized society and was for the most part legal.
The Minute Men are TRUE Americans supporting our laws that our federal government not only refuses to do but attempts to intimidate TRUE Americans when they stand up and act.
I don't know which is worse, the flood of low life's across the boarder or the corrupt federal and state governments we have allowed to develop.
I am glad we still have some of the 2nd Amendment left but I do not think the average American has the stones to use this protection for its intended purpose. This country needs another revolution (at the ballot box) but seems more interested in who will be kicked off the island this week.
Now this folks, is one great idea! Reduce shipping costs and time while creating a more secure border. We might want to stock the canal with sharks and I don't mean lawyers.
Plus, it will draw people from the north down to the south, away from our borders.

Texas does not have the right to secede. No state does.
What Texas did negotiate, which makes it unique among the states, as an incentive to join the U.S.A., was the right to split into two states, thereby giving it two more votes in the Senate.
(And I'm not sure whether that power is still in effect.)
History fact, Sep 14th, 1847: United States army seizes control of Mexico City. Mexico basically surrendered the following February.
I read an amusing (and probably factually true) post on another thread a few days ago, where the poster said that he felt confident that the U.S. 4th Army could make Mexico City in a couple of days!!
The problem is that neither party wants to take any meaningful action at all about this deluge of humanity pouring into our country.
We could easily make it, but probably not take it. It is the largest city in the world.
But we could lock it down so tight that not even a cucaracha could get in or out.
Shoutout to Emperor Santa Ana - thanks for all that Double Bubble.

At first glance, I thought it said Mexican American Political Assassination.
