I've only seen conservatives called "fundies" by the most radical of Democrats. The earliest use of the word that I saw was when an aging former member of the SDS ("Students for a Democratic Society"--communist organization in the late 1960s) was using the word against Republicans in general.
ah ha...
the farmer guy that hasnt ever heard a farm joke in his life...
not surprised...
I hope he is getting an FR vacation right now....
The accusation was made against those who didn't agree with all Laura's remarks, some of whom are good christians and don't deserve the treatment.
This is day FIVE of threads on this subject.
Unreal, huh?
Quick! Hide your Lucky Charms! Count Dracula is coming!
Alia, would you be upset if people were mischaracterizing you? I would.
You think Laura's comments equate her to being a whore?
As you are doing to me? I don't recall directing any hateful invective in your direction. Your comment would appear to be mis-directed.
no kidding; I'm laughing; this thread is such, um, an obvious one and there are agitators in this thread. I really should use my time more wisely right now; but I'm studying, here. :)
Those whom many consider to be the founts of propriety have, I am certain, on occasion, cursed a blue streak and made drunken sailors blush. At the risk of offending the hardcore Bible-thumping religionists, I'd posit a whimsical thought that while the Christ was asking the Father to forgive us for we knew not what we did, He'd have had other words for the Romans, Pilate, et. al. cross His mind that would've shocked the Rev. Graham.
Not every librarian or Texas hand has 24/7 Puritan decorum.
You know what they say...'no one knows what goes on behind closed doors'.
That is simply not true.
More hyperbole. Just an excuse really for not being able to find ANY people on this board who think Laura is "white trash".>>>>>
Trailer park insult denotes white trash.
"Frankly, I now think that any view I had about Laura Bush being a "classy" lady was wrong. Maybe it was just a one time trailer park moment. But I don't think so. I also don't think the same of her husband anymore. A man I have supported for years.

It started with my comment that our First Lady should not be pandering to battleaxe feminists with her public "jokes" about her own husband ("milking" "male" "horses") and going to see men stripping. And that's exactly what she was doing. Comments like that are unbecoming of conservatives, and Michelle was right.
Where do I get the book that defines the rules?
Ugh - well first you'd have to point to a post where I actually argued that position.
That thread would be posted had Goldie not cleaned house.
Don't be ridiculous. Christians don't have to suffer abuse and not speak up. That's absurd.
There are christians who did like Laura's comments and christians who didn't like all of them. The latter should not be equated with the Taliban.
I've been avoiding these threads. Tonight I thought I'd take a dip in to see WHY there have been threads on this subject day after day.... whew.
