I cannot help myself for feeling a bit cynical and distrusting concerning this FReeper.

Soco M Officer. Please help me.

Who are you?

I share your concern -- two threads going, one supposedly posted by the soldier himself, another "dictated" before he "lost consciousness."

It's NOT Soco M, it's SOCOM:

Special Operations Command (SOCOM)

The United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) is one of nine unified combat commands. It was activated in April 1987 to provide command, control and training for all special operations forces (SOF) in the United States. The command has approximately 47,000 active, National Guard and reserve forces.

I guess this is where I am: I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt. My speculation would be that this is an officer who signed up on FR and mostly lurks. Maybe in his area of duty he doesn't have time to post, but reads a lot. My prayers are with all of our military - and I KNOW yours are too. I'll just wait to see how this sifts out, and in the meantime I'll pray.

DFU - can you shed a little light possibly?

See this send off thread for him. I think he's real, the only question being did he really post the other thread, and did he really dictate this email? I suspect he did.
