Will be on my prayer list. God Bless all of our troops.
I was considering that. The individual in question had only one previous post on FR. And if I were that seriously wounded, the last thing I would think of doing was posting an email message to an internet forum on which I haven't really participated.
And that he'd be able to email out that soon is also strange in the fact that, if he wrote or dictated the message right before losing consciousness, then the injury has just occurred and his family has not yet been called. That doesn't sound like something that would be allowed to happen. Whenever a serious injury or death occurred in Sgt. AQGeiger's battalion, all email and phones where made inaccessible until the family was notified.
Prayers are headed your way for you and all our soldiers.
"Forgot to duck" is wounded.
I do get a lot of pings but I always look at yours, so I remember them. Thanks.
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking this is a hoax. On the one thread, the soldier is posting himself, and thanking God for wireless, on this one, he has dictated his message -- pretty much the selfsame message -- prior to "losing consciousness." Something's amiss here.
Prayers sent Captain Mike. It will be good to have you back home soon. On behalf of my family I thank you so much for your sacrifice. Because of men like you I can sleep soundly knowing my children are safer. God bless you and your family.
One prayer...on the way.
Jeepers. I join in urgent and earnest prayer for our hero!
I guess this is where I am: I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt. My speculation would be that this is an officer who signed up on FR and mostly lurks. Maybe in his area of duty he doesn't have time to post, but reads a lot. My prayers are with all of our military - and I KNOW yours are too. I'll just wait to see how this sifts out, and in the meantime I'll pray.
DFU - can you shed a little light possibly?
Anyone send this to Sean Hannity?
I met Mike at a KABC radio event. Others met him at the Oscars FReep. He said he was on one month leave but they cut it short to send him back for his third tour. He sent us a greeting when he got to Iraq but that was the last we heard until now. I don't know anymore than that.
Thanks DFU - some are doubting the sincerity since there are two threads that sort of don't mesh.
That is a good point. Why the two different posts though with such similar text?

Prayers for the missing, prayers for all in harm's way.
Our men and women always need our prayers of protection, prayers of healing and their loved ones sometimes need our condolences as they mourn...
I am grateful for their service and their sacrifice.
Many prayers going up for Captain Mike.
May his healing be swift and his years ahead blessed with all good things!
Do you think he could have been a poster by another name for general chat and then took this name to be personal?
Thank you for your service. Our prayers are with you.
I don't know. I have seen a few (2 that I remember specifically) folks that came in here, got us all pulling for them and then had something horrid happen to them - so they said. Unfortunately it serves to make on cynical! UGH! I hate being cynical. I prefer to believe everyone is NICE! LOL!! Back to the point - which was - in both of the other cases I remember, the FReeper who pulled the stunts didn't meet anyone in person. SOCOMOfficer has met Doug From Upland. In person. I just feel like we need to take a breather and see what falls out on this one. The other possibility is that someone hacked his account and is posting as him and he has no idea this has happened. Just a thought.
