Questions arise http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1395606/posts?page=15#15
Do we know this guy is for real?I can personally vouch for Captain Mike. He's got a real young sign-up date, and so do some of his early pings on this thread.
He is the real deal.See also the thread that I just posted before I found THIS thread:
PRAYERS NEEDED:
FReeper Socomofficer [US Army Captain Mike] seriously wounded in Iraq
e-mail from one of Captain Mike's men | May 3, 2005 | FReeper Socomofficer [US Army Captain Mike]

To follow is a very troubling e-mail that I just received from one of Captain Mike's men:
My dear friends,
I forgot to duck. By the time most of us read this I will be on my way to Germany for treatment. The doctors have decided that I'm too severely injured to continue my job. I don't know when I be back stateside but I will let you know.

This message was dictated to me before the captain lost consciousness. I'm not a doctor so I can't tell you his condition. I can tell you that he did it right and saved the lives of several men in the vicinity. The unit sends its sympathies to his friends and family.
Personally, I found him to be the finest officer that I have ever known and am honored to serve under him. Again, you all have our thanks and our sympathies.

I know you and I respect that.
That merely means he's a person--not what he claims to be....
^
Prayers for your strength, health and early recovery, Mike! Godspeed your travels stateside and guide the hands of the medical people who serve to help you recover, in Jesus' Name, amen.
Clearly a case of 'loose lips'.
This is bad....
Dear Lord,
Please put your hand on Socomofficer and bring healing to his body. Help him to know how much you love him. Let him feel you wrap your arms around him. Give him your peace that passes all understanding. And, Good Shepherd, comfort him as you would a wounded sheep, gently and tenderly.
Amen.
Oh, I don't say I believe. Just that there is respect.
I don't know what to say. I met him at the KABC radio event and others met him at the Hollywood event. I didn't check his ID.
I worked for SOCCENT for several months. I was never in SpecOps. Maybe you're assuming too much.
Seems to me he would have a little more of a posting history before returning stateside if he were trying to put one over on us.
Is there a full moon where you are??
Remember how many news stories we saw of them with first names only, no ranks?
Notice that even the names of the regular joes are redacted out of the Italian report that they then 'outed'?
Now we've got another name and rank of a guy in his unit, his name, rank and picture?!
And he can't spell 'Al Qaeda' (coloquially, 'AQ').
Besides, they don't even refer to them as 'AQ' in Iraq....
I'm still calling BS.
If it's true, you should ask the Admin Mod to yank this thread 'cuz we have a serious case of 'loose lips'!
Thank you for your service Eagle Eye.I mean it,fatima
Me neither. I am very skeptical. I have been wrong before and I could be wrong now. My cousin's son served in Iraq (2 tours), I can not imagine him logging onto FR to send this message. I do not like being duped. If I am wrong, I apologize and I send get well prayers to Socomofficer.
I admire, respect and am thankful to our Military.
From what I understand, a fellow officer sent the message to RonDog on his behalf.
