Apparently his lawyer suggested that he take a private one first and my understanding is he was ready to take one from the police.

It's still a delay and time could have been of the essence. So I still wonder what the fiance knew and when he knew it.

I can't speak to that. I was just addressing the fact that he did in fact take the polygraph and was willing to do one for the police. :-)
