Well, you are both very lucky.
My parents died and I didn't have a wedding or a shower.
Ended up getting married by a mayor then going out for breakfast. I love all those girlie things, but could just never afford to get it.
However, Mr. Mabelkitty loves the heck out of me and still thinks I'm the best looking gal he's ever seen - this after 14 years. I like to think the Lord said, "Hmmm. You won't get the big to-do or the nice presents, but have I got a nice surprise for you." LOL. Isn't it grand how life turns sometimes?

You will get a chance for some young person's wedding to do the girlie things! ANd be a great blessing to them.
You should start buying silver now. One place setting at a time!!! Before too long, you'll have dinner for eight! or twelve!!
