You are so insensitive!! Dont you know that no flatware days before a 600 guest wedding with 14 bridesmaids is a DISASTER.

Pick a classic pattern and it's not as likely to be discontinued

Ladies, can we talk football?

I wonder what my daughter will think when she gets the Grand Baroque? LOL Maybe she'll pack it away to give to a daughter of her own. LOL Grand Baroque like a silver fruitcake just passed around but never used.

Rats rear. We have my moms and it goes on the dinning room table every holiday. Ours is used in the breakfast room, on the bar and on the card tables in the den. My mother used hers everyday, saying there was no reason to store it away for special occasions. My sister has some from one of my grandmothers that looks very much like it, though it is somewhat simpler. I'm trying to talk her into trading it to me for something I have - though she doesn't seem to want a 17 year old daughter! ;-)

I love using it.

Charges should be filed against her!

Prosecute all runaways NOW! Lock them up! It is criminal to runaway!

Off on a tangent, wonder what happens if a witness protection subject is reported as missing?

I'm not really an expert but some of the brands that have been around for a long time are Wallace, International, Reed & Barton, Gorham, Towle. You can find out from the manufacturer how long the pattern line has been around. Ooohh!! You are going to have fun shopping. I'd start at a department store and when I've picked one I like, shop around on the internet for a better price!

you want football when we are talking FLATWARE?

Actually you can find old discontinued flatware at various places, just post the pattern on google and you will find a bunch of places that have estate silver.

Nobody engraves flatware anymore. I did, just to make sure the second wife didn't enjoy it if I died. We have some with three generations of initials on them. You can't find someone to engrave silver these days. The world is going to hell in a handbasket if you can't get your fine silver engraved!

She did more than runaway. She lied to LE causing additional monetary damages.

No. But if they learn to not dismiss 'ol pissant when he goes against the grain, then that is good enough! Plus the gal IS alive. That's a good thing.
