ORLANDO, Fla. -- Detectives on Wednesday released a photograph they hope will help them identify a girl seen in a series of sexually explicit pictures that were taken at a Walt Disney World hotel and other locations and have circulated over the Internet for the past three years.
The newly released photo is of another girl who investigators do not believe was sexually exploited.
But the backgrounds of the images of the two girls have enough similarities, including furniture and exercise equipment, that detectives believe they may have been in the same place at the same time, said Sgt. Matt Irwin, a sheriff's detective.
The second girl's image was included in a collage found on the Internet that included the sexually exploited girl, who detectives believe has been sexually abused almost daily for the past several years and has appeared in 200 explicit photos.
Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said the photo was being released "in hopes that if a citizen can identify her, it will greatly increase the chances of successfully identifying the perpetrator and recovering the victim."
Detectives do not know who the girls are or where they live, but they believe one of the images of the sexually exploited girl was taken at a Walt Disney World hotel several years ago, when she appeared to be about 9.
"Our hearts go out to the victim and her loved ones as we do everything we can to support law enforcement in its investigation," Disney spokeswoman Kim Prunty said in a statement.
The image made public Wednesday shows a grade-school-age girl with black bangs, a lime-colored halter top and cut-off blue jeans. She is seen holding a pink electronic game.
Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the girl, who was described as a material witness.
Child-porn investigators in Toronto discovered the pictures of the abused girl on the Internet and released some of them after digitally removing the victim in hopes of determining where the photos were taken. Clues from some of the photos suggest she may live in the northeastern United States or southeast Canada.
I was debating whether it was a toy or an envelope. It kind of looks like an addressed envelope. I zoomed in, but can't make anything out.
The sleuth work you are doing is great and keep it up. If the FReepers keep doing what were doing we can make a difference.

Hoping FR will scoop the investigators and help find this little girl!
It's long past time to start hanging these filthy bastards. Long past.
I think the award should be much more than $5000, but THEN again I think that people should be willing to supply information for free if they know it in this case, not for the reward money.
This should be one of the most important issues that we pay attention to. Also, one that never seems to get any press are the many girls that are forced into sexual slavery/prostitution.
Issues like this are MUCH more important to me than bashing or defending education.
Please FRmail Constitution Day, TaxRelief OR Alia if you want to be added to or removed from this North Carolina ping list.
Thanks, my friend. Even if nobody can ID her yet, it's still worth getting the photo out there and in front of as many eyeballs as possible.
Glad to help, and I agree.
Sorry for the delay, but I was busy all Friday and most of the weekend.
All we need to do is to get the pervert behind bars with as many inmates aware of his/her activities as we can possibly get. They have a way of effectively dealing with this kind when prison guards go for donut breaks.
No such thing as too late here. Thanks again.
My sentiments exactly.....
ALERT!!!!!!!!
ABC Radio News reports the girl has been found alive and OK. They have taken her abuser into custody. They say the media campaign worked.
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one example of what the media should be used for and one of the issues we should be focusing more time on I think. In fact, we should all work to get guys like these off the streets. I admit to watching America's Most Wanted because I like to see the bad guys get caught.
Still looking but am overjoyed to finally get some good news as I didn't expect this one to have a happy ending, if we ever got one.

Any of these should be put on the front page of every newspaper.
Thank the Lord she's ok.
Indeed. Let us all remember her in our prayers.
