WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Girl Scout cookies aren't free, as a few alleged deadbeats are about to find out. One scout group has filed small-claims lawsuits against people who failed to pay up.
Christine Slowinski, communications director for the Girl Scouts' Great Blue Heron Council, said the legal action Thursday came only after several efforts to collect the money from sales of cookies in the annual fund-raising campaign over the past two years.
The amounts owed by two couples and three other women ranged from $301.42 to $1,485.68.

It's the girl scouts who sell the cookies to costomers that are not turning the money over to the girl scouts, I think.

I have heard of it around here too. I try not to buy them, I'm too fat already and the amount of money they actually get at the troop level is pitiful I'm told.
I try to give them a donation instead and they look at you funny.
But this is impossible! The Girl Scouts are pure and untouchable! Girl Scout cookies are wholesome and chock full of good intentions!
The Boy Scouts, on the other hand, are evil for banning gays... /sarcasm

The girl scouts don't allow gay boys either.
1) sinec GS cookies go for four bucks per, how did they getthese amounts? are they charging tax or something?
2) how did these people get the cookies without paying.
somebody's selling us a lame lamb here if they expect us to beleive that someone ripped off some poor girl scout for all those cookies. especially when the bill runs over a grand!
Do they allow lesbian Girl Scoutmasters? When the whole issue was in flying fury about gay scoutmasters, the Girl Scouts were deafening in their silence.

He should claim false advertising, these cookies are not made with real girl scouts.
