That doesn't sound like it should be possible (well, procedurally or legally). What are the elected republicans like in Maine? Are they conservative or RINOs?

It made the newspapers, that's how I found out about it.

We have two Republican RINO'S in the Senate.  Snowe and Collins.

Our Representatives are great people, but sadly outnumbered.  No matter how they vote, the Rats over ride it.  So it's a lose-lose situation for us.

And when we write to some of the lawmakers, all we get back is an automated response.

And our Attorney General doesn't even have an email address.  If he does, I wish someone would give it to me.

I've heard about those two. Don't feel bad--we have Boxer ;-)

If you're emailing your representatives, I'd strongly recommend using snail mail. Politicians and their staffers pay much more attention to snail mail than emial. Putting your full name and address is also very important. Of course, this is my experience with the pols in CA, but I'm sure it can't be too different anywhere else.
