The President mentioned if SS was not fixed then payroll tax in the future may have to increase to 18% I just wondered what is currently was.

It's currently about 15% I think (7.5 by both employer and employee)......it's HIGH enough as it is!!!

I was happy to see the president mention that sometimes SS totally rips off people because nobody owns the money they put into SS. And many times people put money in, die, and their money is essentially confiscated by the government. Which, in essence, is theft.

12.4%, you must contribute to PERS. What percentage of your income goes into that? Difference is, your is invested, our SS is not.
