I was just remembering his favorite caller, Rita from Detroit. She was a radical black Muslim who fervently believed that white doctors cut the tails off of white babies when they were born.

I looked forward to Rita's calls. She used to call Rush too.

John McCulloch started off real strong on WXYT but seemed to fade quickly into irrevelance.
Local talk radio in Detroit is woefully inadequate since WXYT disappeared into all sports oblivion.

My introduction to Mark Scott was through a junior college civics instructor. There were several semester projects to choose from. One of them, surprisingly on hindsight, was to listen to Mark Scott for a few weeks and write a critique on his point of view. This would have been somewhere around 1979, when Mark Scott was really coming into his prime.

I was immediately addicted, and my world view changed completely as a result. While I did study up on Rand's works, being a Christian kept me from really being an Objectivist. But Rand's and Mark's observations and predictions about the nature of man, using the producer/parasite paradigm, are on the mark... no pun intended.

Yes, I remember Rita. She would call Rush right after he broke here in the Detroit market. I wonder if she knows.

Man, I sure miss Rita's calls to Rush's show. I used to laugh so hard I would have tears rolling down my cheeks.

I would give good money to have her start calling Rush again!
