What a stupid pick for the Boys.
To: Txsleuth
You were right about Ware :)
To: mainepatsfan
I called it---way back a bunch of posts ago---but I have to tell you the Dallas station was NOT talking about him the last few minutes---
they thought Merriman!

Parcells wanted somebody to get after the quarterback.
To: rintense
that pick just shows me they were expecting to take someone that had already went but yet no one else on their board rated as high as Ware did....

Mooch is giving Garcia weapons. Notice I said Garcia. Joey won't be able to handle 3 first round WRs.
To: Txsleuth
That's who I was thinking as well. I'm willing to bet no player from Troy has ever gone that high.
To: mainepatsfan
Well, we have nice cheerleaders.
To: Txsleuth
Unfortuantely. Can the holders of picks 12-19 have a brain fart and forget Johnson's still on the board?

Garcia could have been a good QB in Cleveland, but he didnt have any supporting cast as we have found out...

Demarcus Ware: Positives: Athletic, play making defender with great potential for the next level. Keeps his pads low to the ground, fluid changing direction and pursues from the backside with speed. Quick changing direction or altering his angle of attack and possesses the ability to make plays in any direction. Fast off the edge, can flatten and very tough to stop. Doubled by opponents yet stays on his feet and holds his ground. Looked outstanding at the Combine when used at linebacker and was a force during Senior Bowl week.
Negatives: Lacks the quick first step out of a three point stance. Engulfed by larger opponents. Limited experience playing in space.
This guy sounds small.

not only that, but he is coming from Troy State, so either he will be an absolute stud or a complete dud and out of the league in 2 years....

I was listening to pre-draft coverage and I know the guys on the station were convinced that Ware would not be there at 11, so they quit talking about him and pretty much went with Merriman--
They all now seem a little less excited about Ware, but did talk about the need for speed..
DeMarcus Ware just said the first thing he will buy is a car because he has a 1990 Mercury Marquis that leaks oil and is about to blow up!!! LOL

Hey he sounds humble. I hope he is as fast as they say.
To: MikeinIraq
I thought Parcells wanted to get bigger up front!?
