I'm starting a live thread. Draft is on now. San Francisco is on the clock.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a trade yet.
he is going to be a 2nd day pick...probably going to someone who needs a RB but also has time to work on a project....
Washington's up, then us.
The Cowboys are going to get a better player when they pick than they expected. This will be interesting.
I think the live shot of the Vikings draft party said it all.
I couldn't agree more.
I know they really want Demarcus Ware but have figured he would be gone...but then again there is that trade, so who knows?
At least they got the pick in on time.
The Boys have to be loving this. They are going to get their choice at a bunch of need positions.
I think Derrick Johnson will be a great pick as well. Merriman and Pollack won't be bad either. D-line, Corner, Linebacker, QB are our biggest needs IMO.
The Boys will probably make a stupid pick.
I'd be surprised if Detroit went receiver again.
OOPS, now I am hearing they want Merriman more now---but they won't lock in until their pick comes up...
Great! I was hoping it would get interesting for us.
True. And maybe they'll still be okay. But those fans are thinking the same thing I did - left in the lurch again.
I would too, although we picked Johnnie Morton that one time with Herman Moore and Bret Perriman playing at their best. Morton was a headcase at times, but was a good player for us for most of his career - especially since Scott Mitchell was his QB.
Maybe this kid will surprise all of us and turn into a heck of a receiver. He certainly won't have the excuse of not having a quarterback who can get him the ball.
My guess is defense or a trade.
I am hearing that Aaron Rogers may still be sitting at the phone at the end of today!!!
So far...
1.San Francisco, Alex Smith, QB, Utah
2.Miami, Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn
3.Cleveland, Braylon Edwards, WR Michigan
4.Chicago, Cedric Benson, RB, Texas
5.Tampa Bay Cadillac Williams, RB, Auburn
6.Tennessee, Pac Man Jones, CB, West Virginia
7.Minnesota, Troy Williamson, WR, South Carolina
8.Arizona, Antrel Rolle, CB, Miami
...........................................................
Potential to no. 11
9.Washington, Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn
10.Dallas (from Detroit), Derrick Johnson, LB, TX
11.Detroit (from Dallas), Shawne Merriman, LB, Maryland.
