In what way? Brown says that the waters came up from the ground and rained down on Earth. That's a pretty close synapsis, right? Now, Mr. "I took high school physics," how does the good doctor account for the energy required? I'm sure, since you understand physics and have read his material, that you could give us a short overview. If you don't, I'm going to assume you can't and therefore the good doctor never did attempt to account for it. If you try to pass the buck to me, I'm going to assume the same thing.

In other words, I don't believe TalkOrigins in any way "generalizes and exaggerates" the case at all. I think you're just handwaving away something that you and Dr. Brown cannot explain.

You misunderstand or misrepresent. I don't "understand physics"; I took HS physics, and that was 40 years ago. In my first post to you, I told you to take it up with Dr. Brown, not me. Did you NOT comprehend that simple statement?

Now, physics genius, tell us: how much energy was required, and how much was available? I mean, since you claim your source isn't generalizing or exaggerating, surely this data is available, right? You wouldn't post a factless claim, would you? You being a physics genius and all.

It has nothing to do with the amount of energy available. It has to do with the disposition of the waste heat. It would take about 4 billion cubic kilometers of water to cover the world in the manner described in the Bible. Each cubic kilometer of water weighs one billion kilograms. It requires one Newton to move one kilogram one meter per second. One newton-meter equals one watt-second. Now, the geysers are going to have to be extremely powerful and therefore extremely high to keep the weight of accumulating water from reversing the process. Figure the geysers shoot 8 klicks into the sky (about the height the water will eventually be). Now, since the 4 billion cubic kilometers of water will spew over a period of 40 days, this means that 100 million cubic kilometers of water is shooting out per day. Each liter of water requires 8000 Newtons to spew 8 klicks high. This means that one cubic kilometer (1 billion liters) requires 8 trillion Newtons. That's 8 Terawatts per second per cubic kilomter, and we have 100 million cubic kilometers to push.

Energy doesn't just disappear; that 800 million Terawatts of energy per day is going to hang around in the form of heat. And this amount of heat is being pumped into the system every day for 40 days. Where does Dr. Brown say this heat is going to go? It won't radiate out into space fast enough.
