You know, if you're innocent a court-martial board is one of the best places to be.

But God help you if you're guilty, 'cause the board sure won't.

Yeah, I've also heard people say that a court-martial is the best place to be if you're innocent. I guess that's a way of saying the military justice system is better than the civilian justice system.

The military justice system is the best. I was in Army JAG for 17 years and now in civilian life law offices for 13. Military law is superior in criminal law to the crap of civilian law. Military Judges rule. They run no-nonsense courts. If you pay to have your own civilian lawyer, that lawyer plays by the military rules or his butt is out of there. I have seen hundreds of courts-martial. From simple drug possession to murder. I have never attended a court that I felt the accused got screwed. The accused has tons of rights and they are followed to the letter.
