You know we live in marvelous times... On another thread we were talking old movies & one that came to my mind was an old war movie.

How times have changed. Families often did not know for weeks (if ever) if their loved ones were injured or killed.

Now they know almost immediately & often get email or to talk with them. what a blessing that is.

If the world is still around in a few more generations, one can't help but wonder what new technology will be available.

Letting you know you have been on my mind for quite a few hours since I was aware of your situation & last posted & you & your precious son in my prayers - big time...

Dolly....the instant news is a mixed blessing...everytime I heard a chopper was down or Mike's base bombed my heart sank...I remember when ohioWfan's son Eric's base was bombed....Mike was in a position to find out if he was a casuality....these are very trying times for those who wait.

Isn't it amazing.

Freeper SERE_DOC sent me private mail regarding his son whose is in Iraq also. SERE_DOC also received a voicemail today that something happened but that his son was not hurt.

SERE_DOC thought that perhaps that our sons were in the same vicinity, but it turned out that his son was where the 2 soldiers were killed today.

However when I was on the phone with my son today while he was in the hospital he informed me that another soldier was brought in with blood all over him. This soldier informed my son of the 2 soldiers that were killed and the number of the injured.

Technology is very impressive and so is FreeRepublic.
