Does Malachy have any predictions about me?

"Benedict: of the olive. Malachy was right...again."

How do you get from Benedict to "of the olive?"

IIRC, Malachy said "glorious olivae" so perhaps he is destined for greatness too. I'm praying for it. Praise be to God.

Yeah, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the choice of names. However are there any other links to the moniker "Gloria Olivae" than this one.

Some had speculated that Olive was a reference to Jewish heritage and I notice his name is Joseph. Some had speculated that this pope would come from the Benedictine order. Does he?

"However, in the 1820 printed version of Malachy's prophesies, Lignum Vitre (written in 1559 by a Benedictine historian, Arnold Wyon), a 112th pope appears that was not in Malachy's original manuscript. The 112th pope was added by the Olivetan monks. The Order of St. Benedict claims this final pope will come within the Benedictine Order, and that he was placed in the secession line because St. Benedict himself prophesied that before the end of the world, his Order will triumphantly lead the Catholic Church in its battle against evil (the Battle of Armageddon)."

"Many interpret this as meaning that he will be a Benedictine; their order is sometimes called the Olivetians."

Link 2

Pope Benedict, the 112th pope since Celestine II. As prophesized, the connection to the Olivetans, even if only in the name chosen.

Gird thy loins, it's evil-smitin' time!
