That's why it's so hard, I don't want another church, but I can only be part of it once sex is no longer an issue?! I mean, how many of us here did not have premarital sex? Maybe you didn't, great for you, and I mean that sincerely.

I have a very hard time with all of us so glad the rules are strict now that they don't apply to us anymore. And goodness knows, I'm one of them. It's something I have been praying on.

plenty of things continue to apply to us, witness the terri schiavo case and the hubbub that caused, end of life issues apply even after conception ceases to be an issue. Being human means that we sin. should we recategorize things as NON-SINFUL, just so that we can feel good and holy ? i don't think so. that IS the problem with the moral decay and the feelgood society that we have and that IS what is driving the push towards modernization. and that is why it must be stopped. RIGHT IS RIGHT AND WRONG IS WRONG. our sinfulness does not change that. upholding RIGHT is a good thing, and why we are happy about a Pope who will continue to do that.

Which "rules" do you think "no longer apply"?

Those of us NOT in the "unitarian universalist church of whatever I feel like" live by the "rules" because we delight in God, and desire to obey Him. Our obedience is a result of our love, and our trust in the One who gave us those guidelines.

God's commands aren't arbitrary -- they're meant to protect us.
