I'm a Catholic and also excited (and happy to see so many well wishes on this thread from others of different faiths).
I'm a few years older, so I do recall being really confused when there were two Popes elected so quickly. But other than confusion I don't recall much else.
At 8 there are other things on your mind. =)

The difference in the scenes in that square in just a few short days is amazing to see.

As long as it isn't a secret American Cardinal named Billy Jeff Clinton we'll be OK.

How much longer before he comes out??
The Vatican is no stranger to staging a real show. Maybe they'll wait until the square is full.

Antipope is a Pope who actually goes against the teachings of the Catholic Church: female, gay, married priests and so on. One who corrupts the Church. There were several of them in the early centuries.

That is white smoke...
It's sortof Taupe.
The first female pope, then.

Don't worry about it. She is a liberal congresswoman. Now is the time to pray for our, as of yet, unknown Pope.

My hunch is that Ratzinger's homily may have hit pay dirt - that is, we will have a "conservative" Pope. Catholicism grew throughout the world under JPII. A falling away from his policies would probably reverse that trend.

That is what I figure...
He was just turned 6 on 9/11...we sat and I kept telling him "watch and don't ever forget". He hasn't. I make sure we remember the heros, mainly, though...we take baked goods to the the fire station every year on that day.

Ratzinger or Arinze.. two conservatives who will stand against the onslaught of immorality and this strange delusion about homosexual lifestyles.

I've actually been wondering how this plays in Bible Prophecy. Look at all those people there celebrating. How exciting for them to be right there. A part of it all.
