I was thinking this morning as I was watching on tv a rebroadcast of the highlights from yesterday that we are fortunate to live in such a technology-saturated age. I have a love/hate relationship with technology, but for this momentous occasion, technology has been a wonderful thing. I know we didn't have the capabilities we have now to cover such an event 25 or so years ago when John Paul II was elevated.
This low techie is grateful to all of you who were kind enough to post pictures and recount what was happening and what was being said as it happened. And even though I'm not a practicing Catholic, I am heartened to hear such kind words from so many non-Catholics. Thank you all.

I think I had that same look on my face when I jumped up out of my chair (bruised me knee on the desk) and shrieked, when I saw RATZINGER in that great big font!
I watched the encore presentation on EWTN. I was grinning from ear to ear when I heard Raymond and his guest attempting to muffle their obvious elation at the selection of Benedict XVI.
I hope EWTN will sell a video ... we don't have TV reception, so I was limited to FR coverage!
