The DUers keep losing one election after another. They've got to be suicidal today at this latest.

You will be comfortable with MOST of what BenXVI says. He has no problems with believing people, Prot or otherwise.
Of course, it is his duty to persuade you to become RC...

I couldn't be more pleased either!
Oh Peach, he's HUMBLE, kind, loving, conservative and EWTN is saying that he is blessed with extraordinary gifts.
Wait Y'all: EWTN is laughing at the press: some media outlet has just announced that the Church has elected a "hardline conservative" LOL-LOL-LOL!

I was driven out of the Church in 1962 by these commies and V2, I returned to the Protestant, Conservitive Congegational, faith of my ancestors, I hope that the Panzer Pope allows me to return to the faith of my youth, I miss it.

Not really, although I do see alot of anti-Christian thinking here posited as religious. The Nostrodamus/Malachy witchcraft stuff, the bedding down with the jewish unbelievers. As a Protestant, I can joke about the Inquisition, because Benedict may want it, but the Roman Catholic Church is just a sideshow now in the political world, especially since JP2 sided with Saddam. And I don't need some guy in a funny hat telling ME how or when I can talk to My Lord. You are officially live chow, for now.

Thanks, Howlin! You're a Rat-zingin' panzer-frau yourself :-).

While the stars that oversprinkle
All the heavens, seem to twinkle
With a crystalline delight;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
One of my favorite poems. Always mesmerized me. Poe was underrated as a poet, everyone likes to dwell on his creepy stories. But his poems are magnificent.

Baloney. I too am a Protestant, and recognize and am grateful for the many good things the recently passed Pope did for both Christianity and the world. A good leader for any major institution is important. You are in denial if you think the Catholic Church is not an important and influential instution, including in politics. I don't agree with all their stances, but am not about to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Thank goodness this appears to have been a good choice for pope. May God bless him and his future works.
Today is a GOOD day!

Al Gore says he's confident that, when all the votes are counted, he'll be declared Pope.Or at least pope of Washington State.
To: N. Beaujon
The guy was a Nazi in his youth. I'm sorry, you don't escape that past.Either you don't read FR much or you are being willfully ignorant.
