Not buy what? That Congress has moved far away from this issue? That people are ticked off at Congress getting involved?
There's nothing to buy. Every poll I've seen, from every news outlet, support the statement. You may not agree with the process, but you can't deny that the majority of people fully understand that Congress should not get involved in personal end of life issues. It is between the doctors and family.
If that were so we could justify murder if it were done by a member of someone's family.
There has to be a line drawn here legislatively.
Do we now let polls decide which morals we should have? Besides, I think you'll find that the polls are turning on the side of choosing life. Look again. When worded properly, something like 79% of Americans believe Terri should not have been killed by starvation/dehydration. Fox Poll and also an ABC poll taken after the emotions settled down. Of course, if you look at this thread, maybe the emotion hasn't settled down.
