WASHINGTON Plans requiring passports from people entering the United States don't pass muster with President Bush

Not conservative American voters.
How about we first fire border patrol agents that let these people in?
The poster put the exact headline as reported by Fox, and placed the first line of the report as reported by Fox, and then placed a link to the story. What more do you want, and why do you feel it necessary to say he was trashing the President, calling him a troll and referring him to DU.
Many of us believe that with amnesty proposals, open border policies, refusal to take President Fox to task for his enabling of illegal immigration and drugs, and now this, that the President is not really interested in fighting the WOT here, but only overseas. That does not make us trolls.
I read the article, and his calling for a review in the visible manner he did and using the language he did clearly announces his diapproval of the program.
If your not worried about the half million coming through the ports of entry, then you can't be worried about the 2 or 3 million coming between then.
I just think there has got to be a better way than,
If you find one let me know. I've been doing this for 7 years and have not thought of one yet.
inconvenience of getting a passport
What's more inconvenient, getting a passport or having your life destroyed by illegal immigration. Hundreds of thousands of Americans get murdered, rapped, robbed, beaten, have their identity stolen each year by illegal aliens. A passport requirement would have prevented some of this happening.
We have huge trade with the Canucks up in Detroit and passports would just be another piece of paper.....
This won't stop trade in any way shape or form.
You mean like security for the country?
"I thought there was a better way to expedite the legal flow of traffic and people," he said.
"If people have to have a passport, it's going to disrupt the honest flow of traffic. I think there's some flexibility in the law, and that's what we're checking out right now," the president said.
As I said before in summary, his goal is to expedite the flow of traffic across the border.
Bingo.
I was thinking of taking out specific words from the article nad making my own sentence. Be right back....
the Majority of america are moderate thinkers. The danger for both parties are ultra-conservative or ultra-liberal voters hijacking the party. We as GOP voters have to realize that. We should not make the same mistake as the DNC did.
So do you recommend Americans get a barcode or something to identify us as American?? Color me confused...
No decision has been made, and they're also not starting from scratch. Your argument would carry much more weight with me were this just beginning. Then I'd say, sure, one standardized document sounds best. But all these other systems have been in place for years. Removing/replacing them willy nilly will likely do more to impede border traffic than we can imagine.
BOYCOTT MEXICO IN EVERY WAY SHAPE AND FORM PERIOD
More like surround sound and big screen TV.
I don't know what his intention was, as you may have some other knowledge of the poster. But there are a lot of people here on FR and in the country at large who are rapidly losing confidence in the President when it comes to border security. It's not Bush bashing to take him to task when he is obviously not doing what he could or should to protect our borders. He absolutely needs to put resources into the protection of our borders both entry point and border areas. He needs to stop rewarding illegal aliens, and he needs to stop pandering to President Fox and overlooking his efforts to enable drug smugglers and illegal aliens.
On Fox News last week, Asa Hutchinson stated that Homeland Security wanted U.S. citizens to have passports to get back into the country, even if they are just taking a day trip to Canada or the like. I think this is what they are talking about. I don't want to have to get a passport to go to Niagara Falls for the day to get back into the U.S.
