By Karen Gleason
Del Rio News-Herald
Published May 15, 2005
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Perhaps the most important aspect of Thursdays cyber-terrorism exercise was that it showed local officials how much they dont know.
Val Verde County Sheriffs Office Sgt. Lavell Barrera, who also serves as the countys emergency management coordinator, called the exercise an eye-opener.
The exercise was conducted by The University of Texas at San Antonios Center for Infrastructure Assurance & Security (CIAS) and was designed to help local law enforcement and medical personnel, elected officials and those responsible for critical infrastructure to pinpoint vulnerabilities in their operations."
