This photograph was taken on a visit to Parris island in 2002, after 50 years from my time, teaching women recruits in classroom subjects during the Korean Conflict.
In the Dedidication Ceremony in 1952 for the Iwo Jima Monument (every dime for it paid for BY Marines) in front of which it was taken, I was the Guidon Bearer, carrying The American Flag, leading eight full companies of Marines. out front of it all, with our Company "A" Commander.
It was a *glorious* day and honor!!
(I even lost 20 lbs. since this was taken, back to fighting trim..:))
(Can U spell "Still Gung Ho?!!")
lol
Whoo HOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Atta Girl, Maggie!
Semper Fi from a squid
Which was probably 15-20 pounds too much.
I should have many Miss V reports tonight, but y'all will have to wait until tomorrow, as I need to rest up for the wedding, and need to hit the rack.
Excellent. A personal thank you and salute!
