Returning after a glorious "catch up on sleep" afternoon nap, I found your two posts, and am overjoyed!

Your description of the visit with TC was marvelously detailed, giving us the feeling we were right there with you!
Especially loved this:

"We took a roll and stroll down the hall today and found a window to the world outside. One of his doctors pointed out that we could see the ocean from there. We ended up in a friendly spat regarding what the white specks on the water were. I said sailboats and he said birds."

Oh, man! How utterly lovely, and 'normal!'

It has to be so hard on you, TC, used to the whole wide world unfurling under the wheels of your truck - miles by the hundreds to view the Texas (and America) you love;
and most of all, your new corner of God's green acres..:))

Eaker et al - your example of stepping up to the plate for a friend, Texas style, with a convoy moving his possessions into the new digs, is thrilling for us to see...
I found this interesting post on a thread about God's love, relevant to what you folks did for TC:

====================================================

"When we get to heaven, our rewards will not be given because of what we knew while we were on this earth, or because of any knowledge, or amazing perception of scripture we had - it will be because of what we *did* with what the Lord showed us while on this earth, and the relationship we had with Him - our deepest longing should be to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength", and "love your neighbor as yourself".

1st Cor. 13:12 says:

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as I am known".

"None of us have all the answers; none of us understand all the mysteries hidden in God's word, or know what will happen in the future - the Bible makes that obvious. But - "I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day".

"We know HIM! "Whom having not seen, you love; in Whom, though now you see Him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls." (1 Peter 1:8)"

"Our chief goal on this earth, should be to know, and love Him with all that we are, and all that we have, in ALL that we do. And how wonderful it is to know that He loves us, and longs to see us perfected into His image, even more than we do! - I can hardly *begin* to grasp that amazing truth..."

====================================================

In all that you have done for TC, we see God's love in action, and thank you,
unable to be there and participate physically ourselves...
