Yes, but that was not my concern in this instance. On this thread, I was directing my comment to Catholics, my concern was for the soul of the deceased Vicar of Christ on earth, the Holy Father.

Yes, I have and I do as it authoritatively spoken through His Church on earth.

I submit my will in obedience to the authority Our Lord established on earth, His Church, built on the rock that is Peter, "the pillar and ground of the truth", to whom He gave "the keys of the kingdom", and the power to bind and loose. But if an individual even a priest/ pastor, "or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema", and I would reject it.

but if, if you have a chip on your shoulder that is another thing (but that might be insulting, sorry).

Response: Is there anything you do for others "spiritual works" (outside of the rules you follow in the Catholic Church) for Jesus, that you would consider inspired by the Holy Ghost? Something that really gets your fire, enthusiasm going for God? If there is, then I submit that, that work, is the one that gains you cudos from God not mechanically going thru rituals and obeying rules and saying required prayers. Faith without (inspired) works is dead. Ritualistic conformance is not what the apostle is referring to.
Truth is what is true in the heart, given by revelation of the Holy Ghost, not that which is artificially poured in like wet concrete into the brain and held there by threats of judgment in a lake of fire if you do not comply. How can you be sure they are inspired by the Holy Ghost ?? The best way is to check it against the Old and especially the New Testament writings by the apostles, making sure they are not adding something unnecessarily to your burden. Response: Then you must, by all means read the gospels thru and thru, from Mathew to Revelation again and again and compare it to how much the Catholic Church has added and polluted the pure gospel (simple good news of the Lord Jesus) You cannot just blindly accept more requirements for salvation beyond what even the Lord Jesus layed down for us. You and you alone will stand before the Lord at (after) your death. There will not be anyone from earth (Vatican/parish etc.) defending you with how you kept the rules of men. Simply "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved from the fires of hell and don't forget to ask Jesus to give you the Holy Ghost as well, for he who hath not the Spirit of Jesus living in them is none of His. He "Jesus gives the Holy Ghost to them who ask" I apologize if I have upset you. It is difficult to move ducks around once you think they have been properly place in their correct pigeon holes, if you get my drift ??? The fact is there are alot fewer ducks to move around when you deal with the pure gospel alone.............and do not add to it..........
