Harpu's post didn't convey any sense of 'glee' that I detected........
Thanks for being the first to reply on this thread.
Godspeed, Peter Jennings.
Do I think God is the custodian of life............yeah.
My 22 year old son just started smoking this year. What an idiot!
Let's beat on harpu (frowning)
"According to an Associated Press report, Jennings, 66, has been feeling ill for the past several months and was replaced Saturday on coverage of the pope's death by anchor Charles Woodruff."
That was on WorldNetDaily (and, I guess, AP). I wonder what his doctors have been looking at "the last several months"? Or did he not see them until recently? Probably the latter. In either case, bad move.
I think he has dual citizenship. Believe he became a U.S citizen within the last two years.
He stopped 10 years ago (which is nothing considering he smoked probably for 50 yrs)...which makes him definitely predisposed. He shouldn't be even a little shocked to now have lung cancer. If I were guessing...he's got the aggressive type and he'll be dead within 9 to 24 months. Peter Jennings will soon be history.
There is a local doc here in Houston that has an excellent treatment for lung cancer and his patients live w/out chemo or radiation.
Jennings is so hard charging and ambitious in career even at his age of 65-66.. Only went to high school, is Canadian but made his way to the top. His cancer will be the same but I wish him luck and that I'm wrong
My guess is same. Gone within a year.
Looks like Ted Koppel won't have to jump to CBS to get an anchoring gig after all.
Good luck to him and support for his family
No one who looks like Alfred E Newman can become a network anchor. Aside from that, he's a pompous ass same as Canadian Petah.
He's now an American citizen.
What's that supposed to mean?
If he was, that makes it 10 times worse.
You know he would have quit in a second because it isn't politically accepted in the circles he travels in. The fact that he may have been a smoker says alot about how hard it is to quit smoking. I, too, hope he has a successfuly recovery.
I have a better idea.
We should all send him get well cards from Free Republic ; )
My brother broke his leg up in Canada on a business trip recently and he got excellent care. I've heard that Canadian healthcare is either abysmal or excellent.
Someone said this am (on Rush? Rush himself?) that he smoked quite heavily earlier in his life, and then had quit about ten years ago. Sorry it's vague.
OH MY HOW TRUE....dehydration with lots of morphine is what's done for terminal cancer patients.
However, if Peter has got any good sense whatsoever...he should be investigating an excellent chinese herbal treatment....he should not be only listening to conventional docs ;o(...sorry they don't have the answers. With the chinese herbal treatment even if he's stage 4 that herbal treatment will give him lots more time than chemo. Otherwise...he's toast.
