OK, I'll bite...

I have friends with some space. So I am going to build two kennels. You come by once a week. In one kennel I am going to switch out labradors, retrievers, poodles etc. in the other I am going to switch out pit bulls.

Each week you have to enter one of the kennels.

You won't know who the owners were, you don't know how they have been trained. You may have to fight the dogs for your life, you may not.

Which kennel will you go into week after week? Others or Pit Bulls?

How about you make a list for us of what dogs you are hoping are in the "others" kennel?

The point of a lot of people on this forum are making is that there are a lot of breeds who not only are not vicous, but if even trained to be vicious could not do the damage pit bulls do.

Now guns don't think, they aren't mobile, they don't have thirst or hunger. They don't breed, they can't smell, see or hear. So I don't think anyone is a hypocrite for wanting to ban one and not the other.

And finally, for your grasp on statistics, if we put a pit bull in every home that also has a gun, do you think the statistics on which injures maims and kills more might change? They most certainly would and I am afraid the pit bull would lose.

I doubt the statistic would change. And I seriously doubt that the pitbulls would lose - because most gun owners are responsible individuals that would train there dogs. Sure the pure numbers would go up because there would be more pitbulls, and occasionally there would be a bad and irresponsible owner, but it wouldn't be the norm. Further, I wouldn't be afraid of going into a kennel with any dog you put in one, except for a dog with a health problem - such as rabies. Then I would be a little worried. Otherwise you just have to know what to do and what not to do. Further, saying that because a dog can think makes it more unpredictable is not exactly correct. A dog can be trained to do virtually anything on command. Just do some research on clicker training. Dogs can be made to be incredibly predictable - down to every move they make in a day if that is what the owner wants, and will devout time to achieving it
