Do you know this for a fact? And if so...would you review the donation list to king by various end of life health care facilities above...were all the contributions shunted thru attorneys... I am not savvy in these matters...but I will pursue this and do EVERYTHING in my power to get the word to king's fellow colleagues and his constituents if he was GIVEN MONEY BY THE DEATH JOCKEYS TO SWAY HIS VOTE.

I would sure like to know if the republicans in the FLorida senate who caused Terri's death by refusing to consider the horrific gaps in their guardianship law ALSO were promised MONEY from hospice.

Is the SUNCOAST HOSPICE A NON-PROFIT DEATH MILL?

And if it IS....DO THE BOARD MEMBERS OF THAT CRASS OUTFIT GET PAID? Did felos, greer's buddies, sheriff rice, etc. etc. GET MONEY for serving on the board that would kill a non-terminally ill human being?

I've been working on this for some time now but could use some help. Florida residents please sign up for the email group
http://ripe4change.4-all.org/

it's almost halfway down the page.

I think it's imperative to have an email group because there are many people who do not go to news sites but they will read their emails. This is going to be the most efficient way to disperse info and doesn't cost anything.

Non-profit healthcare providers are exempt charities under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). IRS regullations prohibit such entities from making political contributions and from engaging in significant lobbying activities. If the nonprofit is funneling contributions through its attorneys, that would also be prohibited but there has to be proof that the attorney is being used as a "straw man" for the prohibited contribution. There is no prohibition against individuals associated with the nonprofit (i.e., board members, executive directors, administrators, etc.) making political contributions in their individual capacity. It would be illegal for the exempt organization to reimburse them for such contributions.

As for your second question, non-profits generally do not compensate their board members/trustees, although it is not per se prohibited. Some non-profits reimburse board members/trustees for expenses incurred in attending board meetings, etc.
