Hmm, this may go nowhere though. Dick Cheney is quoted in the New York Post today that he isn't in favor of this. On another issue, Cheney said he backed efforts to help save Terri Schiavo's life, but strongly disagreed with House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas), who wants retribution against judges who blocked restoration of her feeding tube. "I don't think that's appropriate . . . There's a reason why judges get lifetime appointments," he said. Are we seeing a DeLay v. Rove lineup in the future? And what does the President? If what the President wants is action on Social Security, might he want Congress to pay more attention to that issue?

Cheney has it dead wrong. We do not have, nor do we need an untouchable legal "priest class". All three co-equal branches of government derive their power from teh consent of the governed, as expressed by their collective elected representatives.
