Terri Schiavo Cremated Amid Family Feud
Saturday, April 02, 2005
TAMPA, Fla. Terri Schiavo's body was cremated Saturday as disagreements continued between her husband and her parents, who were unable to have their own independent expert observe her autopsy.
The cremation was carried out according to a court order issued Tuesday establishing that Michael Schiavo () had the right to make such decisions, said his lawyer, George Felos. He said plans for burying her ashes in Pennsylvania, where she grew up, had not yet been completed.
Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had wanted to bury their daughter in Pinellas County so they could visit her grave.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died Thursday after the removal of the feeding tube that had kept her alive since 1990, when she suffered brain damage that court-appointed doctors determined had placed her in a persistent vegetative state (). Her parents had fought in court to keep her alive, disputing the doctors' opinions and saying there was hope of improvement.
You are very welcome. I lost a 5 month granddaughter myself.
Look at the picture...her shade is up and we know from all reports that he ordered the curtain drawn for the last three years. They make the room look so pretty and friendly. Turns my stonach.
"Yes but before anyone knew that, the conspiracy was that MS was going to have her cremated immediately so no autopsy could be done."
Shhhhh, you'll spoil a perfectly good rumor and conspiracy.
This is absolute fiction. The report of what the EMTs did that morning are part of the Court record. They DID NOT administer IV glucose. They did have to resusitate her seven times on the way to the emergency room.
And I am sick to the core that a woman who was the victim of spousal abuse, who suffered a spinal injury as the result of a beating by her husband, was misdiagnosed as a heart-attack victim, was described as bulimic (she must have been overweight at times, the horror!) ended up in a hospice with no more than six months to live, after the insurance company that paid out on a malpractice suit calculated her natural life-span to be 40 years. And I am sick to the core that this sentence of death was decreed by a judge who isn't even sworn in and shouldn't be sitting on the bench, not to mention the lawyer who worships death...Yes, sick to the core, utterly sick.
TERRI SUFFERED A SPINAL INJURY. WE WANT TO KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!
She knew she was being murdered. She was cognitive, she knew her environment. She knew.
"In other cases of what were initially believed to be murders, Dr. Thogmartin stepped in and gave professional assistance that freed the suspects."
.....this line is so incredible it's beyond a commnent.
The nurses have not been discredited, but were fired for taking care of Terri, which raises their believability.
I want to see the original films and bone scan.
The sealed records would go far, too.
"Isn't that what the coroner / medical examiner does?"-Smartaleck
Have you ever heard of Vince Foster? Have you ever heard of a medical examiner by the name of Dr. James C. Beyer?
Did you get to the part where he doesn't know who signed the report? Where he doesn't know why other doctors have a different opinion, didn't see what he did?
"Wonder how complete autopsy was and if anything will be learned from it other than she died from lack of food and water."
They'll be able to tell a lot. Degredation of the brain from lack of oxygen, scar tissues in the organs, analysis of the bones, historical tramas etc.
"They say her brain damage was from a 'chemical imbalance'..."
No they don't. What they say is that Terri Schiavo's brain damage was caused by anoxia (lack of oxygen) which was the result of cardiac arrest caused by the chemical imbalance.
Ithaught she could not feel anything, but she could be uncomfortable.
I wonder how uncomfortable she was during her starvation?
Finally if I was the elderly mother of that Dr Theresa Buck I would get a living will pronto:"Keep my murdering daughter away from my bedside." That would be my 1st thaught.
I seen of all that. But when push comes to shove, he did not deny that was not his report when put on the spot. Like I said, it was interesting.
Not to worry, the brain was left with the ME in its entirety. But most important is the bone xrays, that is where they will hit paydirt.
One she had a stroke.
Two apparently affected a different part of the brain.
(Not my thoughts but that of a doctor who was familiar with both cases appearing on TV)
Three......she wouldn't be trying to cash in by increasing book sales would she?
Insulin doesn't raise blood sugar. It does just the opposite. An overdose of insulin would cause a very low blood sugar level.
The weight is 140 to 196 pounds on this side of the Puddle?
Heh heh, I posted a link. The ME can order Greer to give him those spousal abuse reports and the Judge has to. An investigation trumps Greer.
This is going to be very very interesting.
One thing Thogmartin did was help reverse convictions of two men who were railroaded by the previous stupid ME. The powers did not want him doing that. Especially McCabe. Thogmartin stuck to his guns.
