CHICAGO - Gov. Rod Blagojevich approved an emergency rule Friday requiring pharmacies to fill birth control prescriptions quickly after a Chicago pharmacist refused to fill an order because of moral opposition to the drug.
The emergency rule takes effect immediately for 150 days while the administration seeks a permanent rule.
Our regulation says that if a woman goes to a pharmacy with a prescription for birth control, the pharmacy or the pharmacist is not allowed to discriminate or to choose who he sells it to," Blagojevich said. "No delays. No hassles. No lectures."
Under the new rule, if a pharmacist does not fill the prescription because of a moral objection, another pharmacist must be available to fill it without delay.
A good time to see if freedom-lovers will, for once, tell Big Stupid Government to blow it out its a$$.
Trying again, for a list of evil doctors who refuse to do abortions and must have their licenses removed by you:

I'll bet they are leaving out a vital fact. This sounds like it is about RU486 to me. I would highly question if that is birth control in the minds of many moral people. It more in line with Abortion. If anyone has the means to further research what appears to be a biased and misleading article without the facts then that would be helpful.
"article says "birth control prescriptions" that would lead me to believe it just the run of the mill "pill""
We can't make such assumptions. Remember the MSM is very crafty in how they title there arguments. They are hoping that people will think exacty what you think.
I see no mention of RU-486. I'm under the impression that these are typical birth control pills. Pills that induce abortions should be illegal.
I never said doctors should be forced to perform abortions. See post 92.
ZZZZZZZZZZ
And will you consider the 'legal consequences' an "injustice" as you did in the Schiavo case?
Who do these judges think they are?
You do realize ALL birth control pills run the risk, however slight, of inducing an abortion, don't you?
I think the pharmacists has a little more say over the filling of prescriptions than just blindly filling a doctor's orders. I could be wrong in this, but I think they are there to do more than just count pills.
"Some pharmacists across the country are refusing to fill prescriptions for birth control and morning-after pills, saying that dispensing the medications violates their personal moral or religious beliefs."

Still looking for more. The MSM is obviously trying to water down Ru-486 by mixing with birth control.
Kind find much about Chicago specificaly, but this is happening all over the country. And it is usually tied to RU-486.

Jail the Catholic pharmacists who will not dispense RU-486? Imprison the Catholic physicians who will not perform abortions or kill (euthanize) the ill and the defenseless? Forbid Catholics from being pharmacists or physicians?
You are employed by the government in the military, a pharamcist is not. Besides having an objection to suppying one class of drugs out of 100,000s hardly precludes him from doing his job as being a conscientious objector in the military would do
Let them. I'd choose another pharmacist.
